A Lifestyle Of Music Artistry..

2011 Los Angeles Music Awards nominee for "Jazz Artist of The Year"2011 Los Angeles Music Award Winner For "National Touring Artist of the Year "SureWill's thirty year music background began with his playing in church in Buffalo, NY. Influenced by George "Chief" Davis, amazed by his skills of putting a bunch of keys together and the flavor it gave out, Will knew that was where he wanted to focus his talents. He picked up "B" flat clarinet in third grade. Two years later he was playing, reading and writing on the Alto Saxophone. In church and to avoid the wrath of "Granny" and stay awake during the notorious lengthy Church of God in Christ services he started playing Drums. By eleventh grade he was playing every instrument and his music teacher kicked him out of class saying he wouldn't amount to anything because he wouldn't focus on one. That was the beginning of "ToldUSo" Productions for all the people who said he couldn't do it. Will has had the pleasure of working on projects and performing with Grammy Award winning artists: Al Jarreau, George Duke, Mary J. Blige, Janet Jackson, and New Edition. He has also performed with many hard working artists in the industry such as NeYo and Sade. Will has worked hard in the industry and has gained the respect of many peers and A-List artists. He has performed live in some great venues and events such as The Long Beach Jazz Festival (2006 & 2007). NeYo and Faith Evans World Tour (2005-2006), JVC Jazz Festival (2005), Newport Jazz Festival (2005). He has also performed for the following shows and televised awards: Grammy's (2005), American Music Awards (2003- 2005), BET Awards (2003-2005), Country Music Awards (2004). Most recently he wrote and performed the score to the December (2010) play The Haunting Secret. His writing and producing skills have taken him to an area where he wants all those who have the "ToldUSo" mentality to realize their dream. SureWill is now stepping out of the shadows and will continue to reach the world through his gift of music artistry.

There is nothing like a debut release by a smooth jazz artist that truly feels and believes in his or her product. A case in point would be the moving, driving, energetic release from Will Clark (aka Surewill), Out of the Shadows. In many ways, the CDs title speaks to the journey for this very talented, competent keyboardist. Having been immersed in the music scene for 30 years, beginning in the church, Surewill has had the pleasure of working on projects and performing with such Grammy Award-winning artists as the legendary Al Jarreau, funkmeister and keys wiz George Duke, the iconic ladies of song Mary J. Blige and Janet Jackson, and New Edition. He has also performed with the world renowned Sade, as well as with such artists as NeYo. While all of this exposure is almost always seen in a positive and enriching light in and of itself, Surewill has come from the sidelinesout of the shadow, if you will and produced what can only be seen as his individual charm, style, and signature in the world of contemporary jazz.Jumping off with a fiery up-tempo lead track called JW Jam, featuring some mean sax work by Eric Pattrson, its obvious that this artist is aiming for the stars. Holding his faith close to his chest, his track, appropriately titled Keep the Faith, carries a compelling message to all, while his chilled out namesake piece, Surewill, one of my faves, does what all really good smooth jazz is supposed to do: caress, soothe, and envelope one in sweet, mellow vibes that help to wipe away the days woes. It certainly doesnt hurt that the man works a melody and a hook quite proficiently and with a lot of cool, as is evidenced on this piece.Confident in his own station in music and his skills, Surewill shows here time and again what it means to share and not be intimidated by what anyone else may have to contribute to his work, as he often shares his spotlight with saxman Patterson and guitarist Jimmy Rodriguez. The sign of a true musician, and I, for one, am most impressed.The CD is chock full of exciting melodies and persuasive rhythms. In addition, there are enticing vocals and harmonies by Jade Capri and Isaac Suthers and Debbie Suthers of KLIQUE, as well as rousing vocals by Barrington Bo Henderson on Keep The Faith), Neither routine nor mediocre in any way, Surewills music makes a statement that speaks clearly of originality and imagination. Stressed? Tied in knots? In need of a mental getaway? Out of the Shadows has your Rx.With this release, Surewill just brought his musics persona and image to the forefront and, yes, out of the shadows. You want to take notice. Will SureWill Clark has had the pleasure of working on projects and performing with the who's who of the music industry. Now he is stepping out on his own to make his mark in the world as a solo artist. Im just wondering what took him so long. SureWill has definitely stepped into the sunlight with his soon to be released CD titled, Out of the Shadow. This CD is a burst of fresh air that is refreshing and mellow. The uniqueness of his sound lets, you the listener, know that he surely understands what you want, and does not hesitate to give it to ya! I love when an artist demonstrates the capability of mixing the old with the new.
